Emergency Charging for Electric Vehicles

How mobile charging can support energy assistance before vehicles reach fixed chargers.

Overview

Mobile charging may be considered when a low-charge EV cannot conveniently reach fixed infrastructure, but personal and roadside safety comes first. If a vehicle is in a dangerous position or anyone is at risk, contact the appropriate emergency or roadside service before arranging charging support.

Information to have ready

  • Exact location or GPS coordinates, nearby landmark and access conditions.
  • Vehicle make, model, connector information and visible warning messages.
  • Approximate battery level and whether the vehicle can be moved safely.
  • A reachable mobile number and a clear description of the situation.

PVG-EV pilot context

PVG-EV is assessing low-charge vehicle requirements as part of pilot preparation; it does not currently promise live emergency dispatch. Every submission remains subject to safety, compatibility, location and availability review.
