Overview
Fixed chargers suit regular demand at a known location. Mobile charging is intended for flexible, temporary or location-specific requirements. Many organisations may ultimately need a combined approach, using fixed infrastructure for routine charging and mobile capacity only where it solves a defined gap.
How to compare the options
- Measure how often charging is needed and whether demand stays in one place.
- Compare vehicle dwell time with the available charging window.
- Review site tenure, permissions, access and available electrical information.
- Separate permanent daily demand from temporary, seasonal or overflow needs.
- Plan a fallback route for vehicles that cannot use the preferred option.
PVG-EV pilot context
PVG-EV is preparing to assess where Setrans mobile-charging technology may complement fixed infrastructure in selected Chennai use cases. No option is recommended until the vehicle, location and operating requirement have been reviewed.
